Margaret Romero, our principal trumpet has been severely injured by a car while jogging on the sidewalk!
On June 14, Margaret Romero and her dog, Penny, were jogging in West Concord on a sidewalk when a driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove straight into her..
The crash was about a mile from Margaret’s house. She was awake and called for help, then went into a concussion loop. Penny was not hit.
It’s going to be a really long recovery. Broken nose, face was beat up, pelvis was broken in several places, the ligament on the front of the pelvis was torn off, torn MCL and ACL, and bruising all over. Her medical staff says she is lucky to be alive, given what happened.
- UPDATE -
As of July 27, Margaret is pleased that she has graduated from a wheelchair to crutches which she will be on until mid-October. She has had several surgeries, but with much support from her many friends, has kept a positive attitude and is determined to resume her music activities.
